Bathroom decoration, painting? Ideas please?

Nia24 asked:

Please tell me of websites, or color patterns where i can get an idea… pics, styles, etc. on how to re-model and re-paint the bathrooms in my home… they’re pretty small, what colors are better to give it a more spacious, modern appearance?

Thanks so much, I do choose best answer!

Light colors in a semi gloss paint work best. They are more washable and reflect light, making small bathrooms look larger.

Off white, taupe or tan are good neutral colors, as are pale greens or blues.

I just remodeled my bathroom. Used a paint color called “Rainwashed” from Sherman Williams:
Click on that site and try out some colors, its fun and really gives you an idea of how the room will look.

Lighter colors does help. Also using mirrors in the correct way to expand. But get to the Home Depot and Lowe’s dept of painting and bathroom areas. They have experts that do work there and know what they are doing. Not sure get a manager for that particular dept. They can help with new floors, vanity, sinks, etc. They can help with also paint, what color, kind. The only thing u will have to do is choose to put candles when taking a bath or a curtain added to blinds. Good luck!

I painted my main bathroom in a moss colored green. It turned out beautiful! The cupboard that the sink was in had been painted white and so I did a crackle finish over it with a lighter green. It turned out very well. I decorated with Linda Spivey’s Outhouse items. Her things are available on eBay or at discount stores. I always buy my paint at Lowe’s. They have a lot to choose from and have very good quality paint. Good luck and have fun!!

My only suggestion is to buy your paint from a paint store where you can get advice on the right kind. There are specific paint for bathrooms that don’t mildew or peel from high humidity and if you use one of these you will not have to pull your hair out later.

How about creamy yellow walls and a very light blue ceiling? Inexpensive posters from art.com or allposters.com (French travel posters or vintage travel posters are nice) could bring the color scheme together. Then add new towels to match and great smelling soap!
